After finishing an master’s program in creative writing, a follow-up to a bachelor’s in journalism, I joined the staff of a daily news operation that was swiftly transforming into a print/online hybrid. Long-form features faded away, and metrics became the norm. I learned to navigate video production and photography. After 15 years, I went full digital, becoming part of a 24/7 online content hub for a large national broadcast communications company. In 2018, began working for Auburn University, writing about engineering, wildlife, environmental research and business.
